Re: Defend this position

Hey, what am I getting mentioned for? tongue

yeah, a team can prepare a point to make it easier to defend and resupply themselves, throwing out scan beacons at a distance to see approaching enemies so you can draw down etc before they get to you blah blah blah. But then, as Ty has said, you can't MAKE people do what you want, thats half my frustration as SL and I fully understand it when Ty says he will kick people for not making a team effort.

Re: Defend this position

The whole mod was build around the idea that you didn't get trapped at a flag in the vague hope that someone would come by, but if your team was defending then it'd only be in one or two places and you'd be fighting off half a team's worth of people at any given time.

We've done our best to focus the defence to singular important points and to make sure no one gets the miserable defending jobs (because they no longer exist).  Beyond that you're on your own.

Re: Defend this position

Most ground maps have flags where, as a defender, you can get attacked from several points around the defensive perimeter.  Since you're not guarding one door or one Tatooine-rock arch gate static object thingie, one player with an e-Web isn't going to be much good without at least a squad mate or two backing him up.

So, I've been in the SL position in that situation and have felt your frustration John.  What I do is keep my BF friends list to people who I know aren't retarded and who play for the team, so that way I try to setup a squad with my "safe list" of players each round.

Re: Defend this position

We know there are tards out there, but we also know there are potentially good players who haven't yet got the hang of things and don't visit this forum. I keep them in my squad because that's the best chance I have of communicating with them. "Don't go too far - we need to keep control of this CP" either on VOIP or squad chat seems to get through at least some of the time, and that makes it worth persevering as far as I'm concerned.

I can't help my essentially optimistic nature. It's what brought me back to 1.2 after the debacle of the first release...

Re: Defend this position

I've only ever locked my squad once, and kicked someone from it once.

Locking my squad was as it was for clan members to join, some of them had slower loading times and people would join filling it up, so we unlocked it once he finished loading.    And the kicking was for someone AFK, when a "good" player wanted to join.
