Re: Im like a star wars Dictionary. Ask me anything star wars
Seriously? Of course not, it's nothing than a bit of light-hearted fun poking at the many inconsistencies of Star Wars.
I actually read Lucas's original novelisation of 'A New Hope' before I saw the film! I'm aware of the writing of the back story, of the original idea about Mace Windu, about Darth Valorum, and of the potential Episodes VII-IX and Jacen Solo. The story evolved forwards and then backwards – it's a difficult way to do things and maintain consistency. It's still a good yarn, though.
I like Kyle Katarn! He's my kind of Jedi:
-Sensitive to the force and able to use a lightsaber – basic Jedi requirements.
-No brainwashing from an early age at an academy so he thinks for himself – as evidenced by his training as an officer candidate at the Imperial Academy and defection to the Rebel Alliance.
-Tempted by the Dark Side (aren't we all), but ultimately able to resist it
-And a fair decent bird in tow (who he kisses in the Jedi academy!).
I'd say that's much better role model than the manipulative Obi-Wan! When he said: "Your father wanted you to have this" what he meant was: "I left your father for dead in a volcano, just after I chopped his arms and legs off and watched him catch fire. I picked this up on my way out"! That "more civilised age" he talks about... that's the one with the utterly corruptible Senate that was wide open to manipulation by the Sith, yeah?
That's a thing: Sith. When did that term first appear? I don't recall any mention of Sith in the OT. The first time I remember seeing it is in the title of the expansion for Dark Forces II 'Mysteries of the Sith'. The bad guys in the original game (Jerec, et al) were referred to as 'Dark Jedi'... Is this something that made it into the movies from the game, or were the game devs aware of what was coming up in Episodes I-III? There was also a purple lightsaber in MotS (Mara Jade's) several years before Sam Jackson is supposed to have asked for one...
