Re: Rate 1.3

Team speicific vehicles were a bad idea when presented, and now a bad idea in play.  This is Battlefield, not some Lore true shite RPG.

FS is not lore-accurate? :goes to find socks that got blown off:

Nothing like making it across the map on foot to realize that you're still gonna' be afoot against freshly spawned walkers and tanks.

What's any of this got to do with team-locked tanks?

Whilst I can understand players' frustration at anti-air missiles that don't lock on properly, I fail to see why anyone witters on about it taking too many rockets to take down an AT-ST. The walkers have three weak spots that mean they can be taken out in short order by any of the standard primary weapons. Simply get behind the walker and shoot into either one the black exhaust vents in the 'pelvis'; i.e. the bit immediately above the legs, or if you can draw a bead on it, the balljoint with the head. My favourite weapon for doing this is actually the Officer's DL-44 blaster pistol, as it doesn't overheat in the process; the ME Speeder gun is probably the quickest, though, if you can get in position. I've never bothered trying, but I imagine a rocket hit in one of these critical weak spots would bring equally rapid results.

I've driven off AT-ST's several times with the Combat Speeder's gun. It's not to be underestimated.

Re: Rate 1.3

One other minor gripe, are you guys ever going to sort out the sounds for healing and ammo giving?  I'm talking about the fact that you only hear the sounds when you are being healed/replenished, not when you're healing/replenishing someone else.  It's the first bug (I call it a bug because I'm guessing it's not intentional) I ever noticed when I first played FS, and it's never been fixed.  It's frustrating sometimes following people around with a bacta tank or an ammo crate not knowing whether or not you are helping them out (unless you eventually get a point for it), and it must be very confusing to newbies (as it was for me).  Plus, isn't it time to make the ammo and healing sounds more Star Warsy?

And on the subject of sounds, is the rebel medic ever going to get her voice? hmm

Oh, and Safekeeper, please don't reply to this, I'd like one of the devs to reply please, and you're not a dev so please stop replying to everyone's posts as if you are.  You're a tester and as a tester you've already given your feedback to the devs, so please give us regular (and far more frequent) players a chance to be heard. Thanks.

I may not be a dev anymore, but I wholeheartedly agree.

On the subject of sounds, there are 3 gripes I have:

1) Bowcaster sound - Really needs to share the same sound as the Probe Droid's blaster sound , so that it sounds like the movie

2) DL44 (Officer pistol) Pistol - Could do with the Han Solo sound. Sounds abit too weak and pea-shooter-ish.

3) Explosion sounds - Needs a new explosion sound to totally differentiate the mod from the vanilla game.

Re: Rate 1.3

I like the explosion sound, what it needs is new voices when people die or get hurt, and yes the female voice for the rebels.

Re: Rate 1.3

I like having my target brackets back for space. Not sure how i feel about ewoks- yesterday as imperials the rebels still took ages to cap it.. and i couldn't reign my men in at outpost so they kept going and dying piecemeal in the forest.

I'd like to suggest some finishing touches that should be easy enough to implement (ie models already there or just slap a coat of paint)

Ladders on Ryloth research labs outposts. They have these huge walls that rebels just run around- would be nice to be able to man them w/out speeder bikes.

A 'this way out' or 'exit' sign in all the docking bays. Just a simple sign on the wall. doesn't have to light up or glow...It can be written in aurebesh- as long as theres an arrow. Those doors are a pain in the arse for newcomers and me to find tongue  This has the advantage of being reusable throughout the mod.

lastly- ryloth has some great gantries and bridges that remind me of the dam mission in BF2- I never know where i'm going to end up one I'm on them tho. On the one hand you have a map thats very difficult to hoof it across and on the other - all those bridges and stuff are begging to be explored and fought over.

Perhaps integrating a CP there might make it less of a flag hopping affair in speeders and tanks and allow infantry squads to shine.
