Not saying to reboot windows, just that I had to recently as I upgraded.

I'll send you the patches tonight when I get home if your online, before installing them try removing FS all together, including the folder in My Documents/BF2142/mods/FS (or something like that) and seeing if that helps.

Myself and Oddball have been talking about this and had similar problems initially. Have or did you have anything running in the background when you installed the patches or rather the one that keeps locking up? Msn, xfire or maybe as the patch installed you, like myself, were looking at a website maybe? Just a thought.

Also, firewalls and other security software that features whats called an " OS firewall" ( one that is an internal watchdog against program executions and other registry type operations ) can be stopping you cold during install, and preventing the FS installer from making any registry changes.

try to identify any security programs ( norton crap , etc ) and slay the processes for it before attempting patch. ( turn it off , uninstall , whatever you have to do to get it out of memory. )

Of course, reinstate you security measures once you have success.

No change using a increase priority, security setting changes and even closed all non-mandatory processes.  It just won't work.  Completely uninstalling 2142 and trying again for the 5th time.  Hope a new installer comes out tomorrow as it is needed badly.

Still a no go after complete re-install going in this order...

FS 1.2
2142 1.5
FS 1.2-1.3

Freezes at 43 of 63.

also tried

FS 1.25-1.3

Freeses also...same place as before.

Dude, I totally stopped reinstalling BF2142, if it don't work 2-3 times, stop, and try without reinstalling 2142. But I still try the 1.25-1.3 but still freeze...

A buddy of mine recently pointed out this mod and I attempted to install it but am having the same probs others have listed.  It gets to 43 of 63 and fails.  I've done the other tests as well.

Install 1.2
1.2 -> 1.3
Fails

Instal 1.2
1.2 -> 1.25
1.25 -> 1.3
Fails

My specs:

Dell Precision M4300
4GB Ram
Intel Core 2 Due T9300 2.5Ghz
Nvidia Quadro FX 360M
Windows XP Pro x64 SP3

I've been playing 2142 (1.5) with no issues.  I noticed JadenOK is also running x64 and is having the same problem.  My buddy is running Vista 64 and it worked fine for him.  I hope someone figures this out.  I would love to try this mod.

Ormindo, what's your system specs?  Are you running XP x64 as well?
