My guess is: owner is single, childless, works is a hateful job, and takes it out on the dog. this should be considered cruelty to animals. I wonder if he/she has a cat costume for the poor pooch...

Are there combination Dog shows and Sci-fi conventions? Geekiest in show award perhaps? probably chases his lightsaber 3 times before lying down.
