A lot of machines ( I hate to say this cause its rampant ) have rootkits installed that have lowered the systems user privilage level .
ah, the evil rootkit.  You may think you are the admin level, when theres a root user account higher than you now.

The best way , Im not kidding, is a fresh install of windows on a new(or formatted) disk. Install FS after all updates for OS are done, and this works about 100.1 % of the time, unless you have a hardware component fritzing out.
FS is worth buying a new disk and doing all this. tongue

But in most likeliness just follow anything woodrow would have you do, as he has already addressed the 64 bit issue previously.

i think ill skip on the reinstall windows, im not doing that again....
heck ill download the 330 meg patch too just host it somewhere smile

Well scratch another idea which I knew would not work.  Reloaded windows and everything...only loaded 2142 and the FS mod no go...same results.

So any hope the 330 meg file patch can be uploaded so those of us that still can't play can get online...this is a real downer.

I would even pay for the patch thats how much i wanna play right now, FS is the only game I play. Please host the patch so the ones that are having this glitch can get back to playing your kick *** mod, in hopes of that working.

i think woodrow has a xp-64 solution he might release. but as he stated earlier , its big.
If he needs a host to serve it , Im willing to use some server power to host the file for the xp-64 users who really want to play.
