One thing: try uninstalling and removing your graphics card and running without it. That might show whether its the monitor or the card. Or the easier way: plug your monitor into a working PC and see if it gets the lines... then youll know for sure whether its the card or the monitor

GENIUS!

I have two PCs, but not 2 monitors, I thought I was going to have to borrow a screen or something lol...

So if the screen works on the other PC, what should I then do?

Got that from PR forums...

but the other question still stands.

Re: Graphics problem red stuff everwhere....

If you are getting vectored lines that sprout off of objects, and or colored squares or spots , I can almost guarantee Its you GPU thats fried out.
I currently have a graphics card that I used to run in 1600x1200 full blown settings, and then the lines started. My buddy who has the identical server with the identical card has had his do the same thing only worse about a month ago.
Theres no solution except replacement in this case. i still play, but had to lower the resolution to 1024x768 and turn off some features like lightmaps and some shading. Even still, I get the specks of discoloration and the chineese-carpet effect where "tiles" of terain textures glow lime-green and other odd colors as the card heats up.

This is surely from mass produced budget cards from companies like BFG and EVGA that are produced with zero quality control ( hence the budget prices - you get what you pay for kiddoes )
My replacement card will be in place over the weekend so I can Run with the high settings , and enjoy the wickedly excellent graphics the game can display , once again.

If you have some chiller spray ( Fry's and other electronic suppiy stores have this ) for testing circuits and chips , spray and chill the GPU and memory chips ( power off ! ) to get them cold before  testing. If you see improvement while the chips are cool , you have your demon.
Lots of cheapass components are being sold on the market these days ( reminds me of 1999-2003 when lots of dogshit was sold as peripheral components )

When suppliers buy from the lowest bidder , and the price is cheap, go figure ...

Thanks for the fast replies guys, I can't try it now because im at my moms work, with AC lol

I only have one PCIe slot, so I can't change slots hmm but I will recheck how well its in there I guess.

Its a flat screen monitor, not CRT... I don't have another screen though so... I dunno what to do about checking that...

The lines are vertical, and when things move on the screen, mouse etc, the lines flicker horizontally off the moving object. When graphics are rendered the red lines form around and outline things on the screen, they aren't totally rigid when stuff happens on the screen.

sorry to say , this is what i was talking about ... the card is toast dude.
Mine even sends the system into blue screen error sometimes , with the NV4 driver IRQ message.
A dead giveaway in my case.

Yea, stuff like making sure the power is turned on , that kind of window licker stuff must be done 1st.  lol
Thats a harsh game of " Project Reality " when you dont have graphics.

Re: Graphics problem red stuff everwhere....

This reminds me of when I first tripped over Galactic Conquest. It was about the same time that I was trying the Desert Combat mod, but both mods had a similar problem: SO MANY OF THE MODELS WERE RED TINTED. MY hamsters. It just annoyed me to no end, so I looked it up. Apparently it was a graphics card problem, where the settings were just too much for my wussy little computer I had back then. tongue

Ok...yeah. Probably not the same problem. sad

Curses, foiled again!
