A possible Solution:
The Passengers are Sitting inside of the AT-AT and the Driver / Commander is able to Controll the AT-AT doors.
If the Doors are Open, the Passangers can Shoot their Weapons, if the Door is closed...
Yeah yeah...I was just really hoping for free-moving. Besides, what if there is a garrison in the AT-AT, but it has a really dumb pilot? "Eh...what does this button do?" *opens doors* Then all of the soldiers are sitting ducks whether they like it or not.

Large fast vehicles like the Tango amphibious command boat showed the limit.
At full speed any helicopter that had landed on its landing pad would start sliding off slowly.
But otherwise everything worked really well with non-stationed players crawling all over it.
Yup, and they had their big spawn-point boats that you could walk around on, plus the Chinook and PBR. Come to think of it, I never tried to walk around inside the Chinook. Anyway, back on topic. I'm really disappointed that it isn't possible, I think everyone would have loved to have that extra degree of freedom inside an AT-AT. Well, if it isn't possible, it isn't possible. That's what I expected.
Curses, foiled again!
