OK, so since the Mapping Q&A thread got used so much, I thought I'd try making one for modding, too.

I'll start: as far as I understand, if I'm making a new kit that has, for example, a frag grenade (which uses slot four in the kit) and a fusion cutter (which also uses slot four), I need to clone either the fusion cutter or frag grenade and give the clone a different ItemIndex number so they won't overlap? Are there really no 'shortcuts' here?

No there isnt, you have to make a new kit to apply to that map, we have done with with a few kits such as the medic, trooper and officer
