Re: Community Game! (Picture Heavy)
I agree Ryloth can become a little too air combat heavy, but I've had some cracking rounds on Ryloth. And Rhen Var: Ice Planes when played correctly with good co-ordination can be epic. I have had some excellent rounds on that map where as Imperials on loosing the harbour we have formed up an armoured column on the ridge between that and the temple and have had great tank battles vs the advancing Rebel armour. Raining down fire from the ridge with Support Troopers running between the tanks keeping them repaired, squad members calling out when they see runners trying to get past the line and the closest unit intercepting them, epic scraps for sure, proper Battle of the Bulge type stuff. And then if the Rebels reach the temple it becomes an enjoyable infantry battle as well. I do think the new maps get a worse rep then they deserve. In some ways they are not quite as polished as a few of our first release maps, but they are hugely entertaining and fun. These maps have recieved a little bit of extra detail polish and additional balancing for the next release so I guess we'll see what you think of them after these changes, but I personally believe that these are pretty good maps as they stand and they deserve a little more of your love. Don't go a hating fella.

I love Ice Plains and Bestine, but Ryloth seriously needs to have its air power reduced significantly. But we've been over that before, so I won't restate what I've said multiple times already . Ice Plains are awesome, but like Taloraan require coordination. Bestine, likewise.

TIEpilot234 wrote:Ryloth ends up being completely air combat, while a few people sneak around capturing points. No teamwork whatsoever. Ice Plains, also a vehicle centered map like Ryloth, is better but is still doesn't provide epic battles. And Bestine is too big...Well, the big versions, anyways. Otherwise its great.
Disagreeing here. Ryloth will hopefully be 16 player version, even with large amounts of players it should still be playable. The best bit about Ryloth is the Base Combat, Imo, we should see more of it. As for Ice Plains, I love it in 32Player mode. Bestine running 32p in a communty game where we can expect about ~40 people. I just downright put my foot down on 64p because of Jetpack campers, although It's more up to Omen than it is to me.
