Topic: STATS ISSUE - LESS THAN 6 PEOPLE

I've noticed that whenever there are fewer than six people in a server at the end of a round the points earned and time last played does not register in the stats.  Is that correct?  If so, could the developers set the stats so that the points register as long as there are at least two players in a server at the end of a round?  Thanks.

Re: STATS ISSUE - LESS THAN 6 PEOPLE

It's intentionally set for 6 people.  Less than 6 people is not a game worth ranking, it's just people screwing around and it would throw off the stats.

Re: STATS ISSUE - LESS THAN 6 PEOPLE

In that case, would you consider setting it for 4 people because sometimes you play a round for like 15 to 20 minutes with 6 or more people then near the end of the round some of the people leave and it goes below the 6 person limit and you get nothing.  I think it's only fair to the people who stick around until the end to get the points they've earned.

Re: STATS ISSUE - LESS THAN 6 PEOPLE

I think the problem with having low numbers of people is you open it up to allow some people to take advantage of the system, ie fudging medals so it throws off the stats. After all, if you lower it to 2-4 people whats to stop you geting a few buddies on and agreeing not to end a round but meet somewhere and knife/resupply/revive each other continuously until you are sure you've obtained the medal then finish the round. It throws off the stats for those that earned it honestly.

Besides, anything with less than ten people can't be considered a game anyway, as imperial says it's just people screwing around. Some little games can be fun, but often there's four people on a server running 64 player maps. In that case i can understand why people leave, but then I ask myself why they didnt start populating a smaller server to start with. You can always hop on to a larger one when it fills up.

Re: STATS ISSUE - LESS THAN 6 PEOPLE

This was something that was fixed for 1.3, wasn't it? I certainly remember getting points with less than six people on the server in the early days of 1.2. There's a post hereabouts where we mention an RT training session with four people and we all got the points, and I definitely got my first Trooper Pin in a serious 1 vs 1 on Mos Espa.

It's not often I find myself agreeing with everyone's favourite walker whore, but Duke has a good point here.

It didn't actually lead to any stat padding before 1.3, did it? If not, why not reduce the threshold to 2? If nothing else, it's a bit of an incentive for people to get servers started and keep playing with low numbers...

In case you hadn't noticed, numbers are getting desperately low out there...
