So I watched the announcement teaser a long time ago and thought the whole deal looked silly, but then I played the demo and was blown away. The fact that you have so many animations and a so deep movement system makes the game feel incredibly realistic and original. No longer can you make a jump practically from a stand still like in FS because you held the magic Shift button - now you instead have to run for some meters to build up speed. And where in FS you saw nothing but a floating gun in first person mode and third person soldier models had only a few animations (various shooting/reloading animations, running, walking, falling to death, jumping and not too many more), in ME you see your legs and arms and your whole body has a wide range of animations. And when you miss a jump, you actually feel like screaming with terror as you plunge towards the ground, arms flailing and vision blurring from the fast drop.
The fact that I have a close friend who looks a lot like the main character Faith, at least when she dyes her hair, doesn't hurt either
