Topic: Is First Strike on the Light Side or Dark Side ?

Hey everybody, BattleDonkey reporting for duty.

My first question before i get dissapointed is,

"Is First Strike full of all the exploiting, glitching, and hackers, that is inherent and ruins the BF series ?"

I would hope and assume that anyone with enough class too play First Strike would not fall into any of these Dark Side tactics.

Second question is,

"I have FS 1.2 now, but do i need FS 1.3 to be current on the servers"

O.K. now that ive said that,

I was born in '70 so im a automatic S'Wars fan, and FS looks like what ive been longing for in all the S'Wars games.

I am a clean player and you will never find me abusing anything, and i mean anything at anytime.

I am a player who gives it their all from start too finish though, and revels in being the underdog, and finding ways to counter the enemy.

To the exploiters, glitchers, and hackers,

Welcome to the forums BattleDonkey, and I hope you enjoy your stay here and look forward to seeing you out there on the battlefields.

Yes, you will need to get fully updated to 1.3 to play on servers as that is what they'll be running. You'll also need the latest version of BF2142 (1.5 if I remember rightly).

As far as glitching is concerned we try to keep it down to a minimum and once any exploits are discovered we do our upmost to counter them, in fact with the latest release coming soon we intend to address a lot of the current exploits and issues to result in a cleaner more glitch free game. As with all online games you are going to get the occasional idiot who tries to use an exploit or hack, but I think our community is such that you won't see much of this, and if they are seen to be glitching or hacking they'll get named and shamed pretty quick.

You've not got many years on me as well actually, was born in '73 myself, so I've been a life long fan too, and that is what keeps me and a lot of the team toiling on this mod, a love of the franchise and a desire to create the best Star Wars game out there mod or otherwise.

So get all up to date and I'll see you out there for some good clean intergalactic hot blaster action.  We hope you enjoy the mod.

Hey great and thanks for the fast reply Talon, good to see im not the only young guy playin, LOL, i would think there would be a lot less garbage than on the vanilla servers, hope its true.

Have had a little trouble finding the FS 1.3, few places talk about it and then dont link it.
Little help please.
Also info if its full client or update, if its not provided.

There are many little bugs and exploits which can be used, but thankfully almost NOONE knows about them, they are mostly fixed for the next patch.  Those people that do know them are all clean players who never use them.  Across all the time I have played FS, I have only heard a story of one possible hacker, and he was only playing for about 5 minutes before leaving never to have returned.

Donkey on the homepage,with the news and stuff look were it says downloads.  Find 1.3 Client then a download mirror.  Comparing glitchers with vanilla i think iv only have seen one on First Strike.

Thanks guys, I can tell already that this is gonna be alot better than expected.

Im at FS 1.3, up and running, ready for some womp rats... now if i could just find that blaster.

I've not seen anyone exploiting any of the known glitches (like dodgy walls) for months. In the early days of 1.2 there were a couple of players I was suspicious of (i.e.possibly using hacks), but when I got into the game and started getting the same sort of scores, I realised I'd been totally wrong about them!

This is a clean, fair-playing community as far as I'm concerned.

However, 'fair' doesn't mean there aren't some hard b*st*rds playing! A trooper with an awesome blaster rifle, a couple of frags and a personal UAV takes some contending with!

People will try to help you out if you join a squad, though, so don't wait to be asked.
