Topic: Can't install BF2142

When I try to install BF2142, the setup.exe program shows the (paraphrased) "Setup is preparing the Install Shield wizard which will guide you through the rest of the installation process. Please wait" progress bar, and then nothing. It just closes and that's it. No "This program has crashed, tell MS about this problem" box, nothing, it's just the progress bar and then nada.

I've got two BF2142 DVD's, both have the same problem, so it's got to be something with my computer. I've heard of people having this problem but they can't remember what they did to fix it. Any help?

Just curious, does it happen with other setup.exe's from other games or just BF2142.  I think I recall a case from someone who had trouble getting other setup's to work on a forum I visit frequently, I can check up if it turns out to be the same problem. (Only just remembered about that now)

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

I just installed Silent Hunter 4, so no, it's just BF2142.
