Make sure the Launcher has access to the internet. When the Launcher updated itself it replaced the executable, which might make a firewall think someone's hijacked the pogram.

The key to this problem is you need to wait.

Just checked and it is in the exceptions list for my firewall.

How long do I wait? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? I've left it running for a suffient amount of time and it just sits there. It worked fine before this last launcher update. It's not a matter of me not waiting long enough.

my launcher (version 0.0.7.1) says this when I click check for updates:

checking for new updates..
new versions: []
no new versions

That just means there's no new patches out smile There's nothing wrong. Also, are you sure you have version 0.0.7.1? That's an old version, check Help->About to see what version you currently have.

Well, I uninstalled the mod and the launcher and then reinstalled both and I'm still getting the same thing. The launcher updated to the latest version, but it won't get beyond the "checking for new updates..."

Maybe it's a Vista 64 problem? Anyone else having the same problem as me?
