Topic: Launcher Problems

The launcher has never worked for me, I originally just used it to download the updates then launched the game directly. Now that the launcher is required I really need some help!

Here is the problem:
When I launch First Strike everything updates and works until it starts to load then it tells me to insert the install disk. This is strange since there never was an install disk. I have the DVD version so the install disk is the play disk. I dont get this message when running 2142 or when running the FirstStrike.exe. My assumption is that the error Has something to do with the DVD version...

I have already tried reinstalling everything and I tried deleting the exe. I have the latest version.

Can you give us some information on your Operating System?

I am guessing that you have the disc inserted already.  If you're in Vista, you tired running everything as admin?

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

Yes I have the disk in of course..
I will try running as admin...

Running as Admin seems to have fixed it!
