Topic: FS launcher doesn't seem to work

Hi all;

i would like to know how to launch the FS-launcher, as it returns an error notification with the following: Please insert original Battlefield 2142 disc!

...as it is already in the drive, all other launches properly

In the Help menu of the Launcher, please select About and let me know what version number it says. Also try going into program files/battlefield 2142/ and deleting FirstStrike.exe and restarting the launcher.

version is 0.0.7.9

my bf 2142 dvd is the deluxe-edition one

i've just deleted this .exe file but the problem doesn't appear to be solved, i'm afraid.

hi, at least can you tell me the parameters to launch fs manually? because it asks for the bf2142 installation cd all the time.

You can't launch FS Manually.  First Stike uses different shaders from "Vanilla" BF2142.  The launcher replaces your vanilla shaders once you click "Launch" and puts them back to normal after exiting your game.  If you try a shortcut (like if you pathced to 1.3 from 1.2) or getting ingame via your mods tab, FS will not work.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

the launcher still asks for the installation DVD though it is already inserted. please help

what version of battlefield 2142 do you have? is it the normal or deluxe edition? does vanilla 2142 ask for the dvd if you try to start it?
