it is the deluxe edition dvd

when the dvd is inserted, vanilla doesn't ask for it, otherwise it does

Can you take a screendump of the message that appears up? (Hit "Print Screen", open Paint, hit ctrl + V then upload it).  There are a few different versions of the message.  If I know which one appears up I can try replicate it using my copy.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

Sorry, I've dug around as much as I could, can't replicate the error myself nor find the cause.

Reinstalling FS 1.4 full has been the fix for most problems so far, not sure if it will help you here there.

i've had that problem before.
i forgot how i fixed it... i think it was a no/dvd crack or a reinstall.

gwynzer, i did either reinstall fs or reinstall the full vanilla incl. registry and folder cleaning. an operation called format c: has been executed too, unfornately without any traces of progress sad

blind3001, no/dvd fix or crack (whatever is is) causes a risk of my dvd-key being global-banned, which i actually don't want to take
