Topic: still cant play this mod...

I`ve read post after post, people with similar problems, and different problems, I`m wondering if anyone can actually play this game.

I`ve just updated to the new build, and still I keep getting "unable to join server, you have modified blah blah, make sure you launch fs from the launcher"

I always do launch from the launcher and I dont have modified content.

BF 2142 is latest version, first strike is fully upto date, I`ve even update punk buster to latest version.

I used to get dumped to desktop, now its modified content message crap.

I`m really on the virge of just giving this a miss to be honest, if anyone does actually know what the problem and can fix it please let me know, otherwise I`ll just play something else...

darkgandalf, try these instructions

1) Go to your Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142 folder. Look for shaders_client.zip and shaders_client.zip.bak. If you only have the .zip file, skip this step. If you have both files, rename the .zip file to .zip.bak2 and the .zip.bak file to .zip.
2) Go to My Documents\Battlefield 2142\mods\Firststrike and delete the cache folder inside.
3) Uninstall First Strike
4) Delete all fsbuild_XXXX files in your Battlefield 2142\mods folder
5) Install First Strike 1.4 Full
6) Use the launcher to patch your game (If you're running Vista make sure you're always running the Launcher as an Admin)
7) Go ingame and try connecting to DSGaming.net (It's the one server you can always be sure is running the latest version, so it's useful for checking if your mod works)

I have had this problem. The thing i did is I
-Uninstalled First Strike, I deleted the launcher short cut the i went into program files and deleted the folder First Strike, the i went into  program files/electronic arts/mods and deleted every thing except BF2142 folder, Deleted my Cache folder my document/bf2142/mods
-Emptied the recycle bin
-Uninstalled BF2142
-Reinstalled BF2142
-Downloaded and installed the BF2142 1.5 full Patch
-Downloaded and Installed First Strike 1.4.

When i had that all done I Installed set up the launcher and made sure I didn't have the builds 1000-1005 anywhere on my computer. I also made sure i set my preferences to 1000.

The bad thing is I have to reinstall First Strike about 5 times a day to play First Strike Now.

One time uninstalling First Strike alone did not work had i still had the error so I tried  Regular BF2142
and it worked.

I really hope this is fixed.
