First Strike already has a semi-official Ventrilo server.

Ventrilo has better sound quality (the most important of VOICE comms)
It has more advanced options
It has more customobility

Teamspeak has a nicer GUI and that's it.  I have used both programs extensively and because I am so  used to the better codecs (My vent uses the best one available) it makes people sound impossible to understand.  And don't we already have an official FS TS server, it was never used hence the replacement to vent.

I appreciate the offer asmuch as the next person, but it is unneeded when we have a better server available.

It's not unneeded. Just because you might prefer Vent doesn't mean everyone does, as evidenced by this very thread. Thank you DaddyO for providing the First Strike community with an alternative for people who might want to teamplay instead of just listening to people singing wink

It is undeeded when we already have a TS server, and it has already been REPLACED by a better program ^^.  I don't get what this whole deal with me singing is either, its not as if I do it that often... the only reason it is commented on so much must be because it is such a great sound!

afaik we no longer have the official TS server. I thought that was why you made me switch the info for it with the Ventrilo server in the FAQ thread? tongue

It is there, but no one is on it... ever.  Hasn't been for anyone on it for ages.  I got you to swtich because there is myself or someone else who can help with mod issues at most times of the day on Vent.  That and the fact its the best way for getting hold of admins of the CG Server/most populated FS server (according to statistics).  Already seen quite a bit of use as it as a Help source, plus comments about how "suprisingly clear this is compared to my clans teamspeak server" tongue
