Topic: Battle of Yavin

I really enjoy the Battle of Yavin but something that seems a bit off is the trench run. I cant recall the exact reason why in the Episode 4 they had to fly down a very far distance, while being in the trench, but they did. It was like they had to stay in the trench or they couldn't get a shot at the exhaust port. But in this level, you'll see people able to just fly to the exhaust port and shoot straight down into it.

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but is it possible to sheild the top of the trench? Essentially a long piece of glass along the whole trench so you have to enter the trench perpendicular to where the first tower is, then have to stay in the trench. This would apply to all craft. And how about one or more of those manable turrets being right in the trench? Maybe not well sheilded so it's not tough to destroy out but something to destroy anyways.

Re: Battle of Yavin

In the movie, the reason is the amount of turrets along the trench's upper areas.  The trench was safer.

This could be replicated in-game by having the 'no-go' zone above the trench (if possible), or simply having a bunch of auto-turrets.

Re: Battle of Yavin

I do belive there is an invisible shield in game which blocks all shots at the exhaust port unless you are in the trench.

they were often protected, either physically, or with ray shielding.
