Topic: WHY WHY WHY!!! WHY ME!

Hey! my first post. i love starwars so i got battlefield 2142. and after crashing for a while. finely getting to update.. reinstall.. i got it up to the letest v of 2142... it works fine. but highway tampa just freezes and i cant play it. (no clue)



2142 works fine but when i install first strike it gives a number of stuff...

battlefield 2142 error: "this server only allows you to play with unmodified content, please revert your game back to the official version and try again"


and whenever i try to load a map on first strike i crash when i click deploy (on miltiplayer). ive only played 1 map of first strike, all other maps crash.

i have looked everrware and i have no other mods for battlefield 2142! the first thing i did was get first strike. Please help! if this is fixed i will be on the second i get out of school! (im homeschooled)

I know about the view distance thing. its set to %100 and it still crashes

Im running xp
i have battlefield 2142 deluxe edition.
my install order was:
1:Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition
2:Battlefield 2142 1.50 patch
3:First Strike v1.4 Full1000
4:First strike launcher updated
5:WHY ME!!!

Welcome to the mod, too bad you're having problems.

If you get modified content error your shader files might have not been swapped...

Look under directory Battlefield2142\mods\bf2142 and see if you have two shaders_client.zip files, shaders_client.zip and shaders_client.zip.bak.

If you do, rename the shaders_client.zip (dated usually 30.11.1999) to "shaders_client.zip.old" and name "shaders_client.zip.bak" to "shaders_client.zip". After this, run vanilla (normal) 2142 and connect to a server. You should be able to play vanilla bf2142 now.

If First Strike crashes on map load, the launcher update has most probably screwed something up.
Did the launcher give some sort of error message when updating?

i found out how to fix all this. but i dont like doing it everytime i attempt to run firststrike

REMOVE 2142 AND FS AND REINSTALL...
thats why i dont wanta try incase i have to..

im gunna test it, if it crashes and it gives me the modifie error all do what you said.
if it doesnt work all wait for a response and if it dousnt work i just reinstall and play 2142 sad
