Topic: nVidia drivers version 180.XX issues

Anyone else experiencing issues with the new nVidia drivers?  I've got an 8800GT and was running the 178 driver with no issues.  However, just got PowerDirector7 and had to update to driver 182.08 for the CUDA to function properly during HD rendering...

Anyway, now I'm getting a ton of on-screen artifacts and texture corruptions in both FirstStrike and vanilla BF2142.  All my other games, like COD4 & 5, Tombraider, SWBF2, etc... all work fine.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Re: nVidia drivers version 180.XX issues

Its an NVidia problem, NVidia and EA are both aware of the issue, and both are doing bugger all about it.

Re: nVidia drivers version 180.XX issues

It's anti-aliasing that's buggered. You have to disable it ingame and force it on via the Nvidia Control Panel. Go to control panel -> Nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D settings and then add firststrike.exe from the Program settings tab. Then set anti-aliasing mode to override and the AA setting you want. I can't go over 4x ingame so that's what I'm using.

I had the same problems on my 9800GTX+.  Had to disable AA in the game and set a manual rule for the firststrike.exe program in the control panel.  Added benefit is it actually looks better since i can manually force 16xAA/AF

Forceware 182.08 - 8800 GTS 640 - XP 32 - fine for vanilla 2142,

but FS build 1008 looks like this again:
