Topic: Cannot Launch Game

Hi. Just downloaded and installed 1.4 I launched it, everything was going fine. It updated but when I started the game, I couldn't find ONE server to join. So I thought I'd start my own local game. But when the stupid thing finally loaded, the game crashed. ???????????????? help please!

I have a Windows XP Pentium D 2.66MHZ with 2 GB ram. Graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS

This computers eats Battlefield 2 and 2142 for breakfast. What is going on?

P.S Also, I've tried running it in Windowed mode. But every freaking time now it crashes. Hurry before my beautiful hair falls out, please!

Hmmm, well try deleting your Cache folder in my documents/battlefield2142/mods/firststrike. Make sure you check you server filters too.

uncheck the box that says "must be unchecked" in the servers list.

Dashstar, in your multiplayer list, make sure your filters are set up like this, then hit update list:

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

I mentioned to check his filters Gwynzer tongue I crash randomly when joining if my cache isn't deleted. Did you read the whole post?

On joining a server, yes, not a local game.  It works differently on Local, and the only way to check if its a problem with his Install is joining a proper (updated) server.
