The easiest way to create time limits is with ticket bleeds in the editor you can set the team to bleed (x) no of tikets a minute. So when the attackers run out of tickets they lose, so they must capture all control points to stop this. This requires no coding only a mapper and the BF2 editor.

There Has to be a way to win though.

IE  The Rebels killing a suffecent amount of Imps or Holding out for a set amount of time would allow total evacuation or in other words a win.  If the Imps capture all the bases or kill a large number of rebels then the rebels are only mildly successful at evacuateing and the Imps win.

the best way to simulate this owuld be ticket bleed as General Un-Co said but can the bf2 engine run scripts like diff-edge is saying?

what happens if the opposing team with ticket bleeds get shot alot and die then there tickets will drain faster right?

If the other team is killing enough people to make a difference good for them, they probably deserve to make the tickets drop faster.

or alternatively

  If the ticket starting tickets are high enough (1,000) and the bleed is fast enough (50 Tickets/min.)you wont even notice the kills. (game would last 20 minutes). Ie your team would have to kill 50 enemies to make the game go 1minute faster. *Now where did I put my n00b tube.*

This really is a quick fix it would be far better to have a timer on screen, or make destroying the sheild generator an objective. I don't know if this is possible, I'm a mapper not a codder.

Edit: I realised the max tickets was 1000 (all numbers edited acorddingly)

Forgotten 2 is and always will be a benchmark for BF2 and BF42 MOD TEAMS if we got close to the detail and authenticity of what they produce I am sure everyone would be happy.
