Topic: FS MOD running on Vista Ultimate 64?

Got a new computer being delivered next week (XPS 730x, i7965EX, GTX280SLI, etc..) that runs Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit

I'll have to re-install all my BF2142 files and the FSMOD - will I have any issues I should watch out for - or more importantly, will FS run on Vista64 w/ GTX280SLI ?

It should run just as well as any other Vista rig, unless 2142 has any inherent issues with 64 that I'm unaware of.

Dependant on how much memory you have in your new rig.
BF2142 thinks theres something wrong if you have more than 2 gigs of memory.
It will crash to desktop, and give you a message similar to this.
"4096 megs of ram sounds insane"
Or pretty to close to that.
there is a fix for it, just google it, if it happens.
As for FS 1.4, im sure it does run, just not on my vista64 rig as of this time.
That does not mean it will not work on yours.
Im sure i will be able to run it someday.

I have posted a fix for the Memory issue about 3 times in the past, I can do it again if it turns out to effect you, Daddy-o.

As for 2142/FS, I have had NO problems running it on my Vistax64 machine, other than User Account Control (UAC) getting in the way. However, UAC gets in the way of everything in Vista, so I turned it off.

Awesome, thanks for the "watch-outs" - It'll be a fresh install of the opsys, so I'll turn OFF UAC (I'm the only one that will use it anyway) and load up 2142/FS first and give it a whirl.
