Re: no k-wing?

Warhead loadout can easily be made map-specific. See the TIE Bomber and its various loadouts.

I actually enjoyed those craft.
You could edit the shiplist file so they were pilotable and they all added some punch and variation to the standard T/F.

My fave was the one with the turbolaser hanging off one side smile

The silliest was the interceptor with external missile launcher pods- everyone who played tieFighter alraedy knew that ties could be fitted with internal launchers in extremis.
Lethal ship tho.

EDIT: And yes, it does look like several designs in one.

LOL!!!

A Bwing had sex with boat, a republican gunship, and F-14 Tomcat, an airspeeder, and a platypus...

And thus, THAT THING, was born.

I never want to see anything like that in FS.

The Z-95 is another story.

Re: no k-wing?

That's not a platypus beak, that's a gigantic Y-Wing cockpit piece thingie. With two cockpits.

Well the E-Wing made it's debut in Dark Horse's Dark Empire comicbook series. Very nice design, it was a sleak and natural progression for Alliance starfighters IMHO, borrowing some features from the X-Wing and yet still managing to have an orginal asthetic all of its own, while still looking like it solidly belonged in the Star Wars Universe.

Cracking design.

Agree. Hoping to see it in some post-ROTJ scenario.

Re: no k-wing?

For me, E-Wing and K-Wing belong together, like X-Wing and Y-Wing or A-Wing and B-Wing. If the E-Wing will be included, I want to see the K-Wing too. I mean, we got used to the look of Tie-Defenders, why shouldn't we go used to the look of this beautiful bomber.

Re: no k-wing?

Man that thing is Uuuugly!

yikes

Too overpowered as well I reckon, it's also not really the era we're looking at to be honest, as aren't these more New Republic vessels?

Still plenty to play with in the general time era of the original movies if you ask me.

Re: no k-wing?

The K-Wing seems to have a crew of several people and quite a hefty size, so I'd compare it more to a Skipray Blastboat, a "mini-capital ship" which I've pestered devs to include in F.S. for the longest time tongue . It has a crew of several people, is quite large, and comes with a hefty twin-barrelled laser turret and several-forward firing cannons and warhead launchers. Adding a Skipray to one side and, say, a YT-1300 to the other in a Taloraan-like space map would be... interesting.

The E-Wing, however, is more of a reincarnation of the X-Wing fighter. No comparison at all to the K-Wing in my eyes.
