Aye, a great work of fiction there Twigs, you seem to be going from strength to strength with each tale. Enjoyed the different perspective on the battle too, kinda reminds me of the old Babylon 5 episode where there is a battle taking place around B5 and the whole affair is seen from the perspective of a pair of blue collar workers based on the station.
