I downloaded from Moddb the first time, Gamershell the second. Same problem. Is there some order to this install update that I am not doing properly? Install, update game, update PB, restart, launch game fine, maps load fine, background good, can see other players playing, can see the minimap, but can not see spawn or kit selection screen. I am at a loss and just about ready to give up. Thanks for any feedback.

Make sure you have  bf2142 1.5 patch?

The isntall order is:

B2142
Patch to 1.5
Install FS 1.4
Run FS launcher to update
update PB

Try that, all from scratch if you haven't already.

That is exactly what I have done. I am considering starting fresh with 2142 as that is the only thing I have not tried. Thanks everyone for all of your input.

I haven't been able to play 1.4 yet. I downloaded it, and joined an empty server just to mess around and see what one of the maps was like, and had no problems. I logged on today, saw a populated server for once, and now I CTD as soon as the 'Deploy' button pops up. Any ideas? Would love to be able to fix this without a reinstall.

My bad, didn't see any at first. For the record, clearing the cache by deleting the cache folder in documents/BF2142/mods/First Strike/ worked. big_smile
