Topic: Graphics card problem?

K, so as you all know I got a new graphics card lately. It's working just fine, except for these black specks appearing and disappearing in certain places:

Is this a cause for concern? It's fairly distracting as I keep seeing them, as little flickers, and sometimes they move, so I sometimes mistake them for players when I see them out of the corner of my eye.

Well, you're no alone.  I've gotten those since I upgraded to a 512MB EVGA 8600 GT.  They are most noticeable to me when I pan left or right too quickly.  I've just never had the time to research/investigate too deeply.

Doesn't affect my gameplay too much since I subscribe solely to the "Leeroy Jenkins" tactic. big_smile

NVidia Card + fairly recent drivers? It'll be those.  Try out regular 2142 aswell and see if the problem is still in there.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

They are in 2142 vanilla too... been an issue for over 1 year w/ nVidia 8800GT or better vid-cards and drivers...

It's an nVidia issue, they're aware, but no longer supporting fixes for 2142 sad

Disable AA, force it on "FirstStike.exe" (in your 2142 install folder) in NVidia Control Panel.
