Well, I've tried everything I possible could. I did everything that was said on the thread that you gave me Twigs, and still it doesn't work. UAC is off, I reinstalled both the FS client and the launcher separately, and I am running the programs as Admin. I'm sad nothing worked, but hopefully I'll be able to look into more when I come home from vacation. Thanks for the help everyone.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

Okay, so I am back from my vacation. I did a fresh download of First Strike with UAC turned off and everything went smoothly. When I went to launch, I noticed that the scroll bar was getting smaller and smaller every time I pressed "Launch". I scrolled to the bottom and found the message "Client using unknown version of 2142, cannot launch". I am patched to v1.5 on 2142, but I'll do a re-installation on that to see if it will fix the problem.

what version of battlefield do you have? regular, deluxe, or digital copy?
