Topic: Problems updating RSF server

As you might recall i have to do it manually over FTP.

for some reason, it's not working- i think it won't let me copy across certain files.

heres the errors:

When I try to start FS via 2142cc the server locks up- starting and failing and starting again.

ideas?

These problems are on upload?

make sure the server is OFF (if there is an "off" setting in your providers web-admin thing, use that), delete the neccessary files that are up there already and THEN upload the new stuff.

or, have you tried that?

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

Yup. The gameservers site has  big 'stop server' restart server' and 'reinstall srver' buttons.

I stopped it everytime i uploaded new stuff.
I've tried reinstalling the server to get the original 2142 files bcak and then copying the FS stuff over.

Nothing works atm.

Thats what I do to manually update the server, as the updater doesnt run.
Its also what I was referring to when I said copying across files.

it sounds like the server isn't turning off correctly. have you tried contacting the serverprovider?

Ok, i've figured out whats wrong.
Zip files (and rar) are not transferring correctly, using fireFTP to the server.
I've no idea if its the server or fire ftp thats causing this.
