Topic: Public Relations/Advertising GROUP

I've suggested this to a few people a few times, but haven't seen anything of it, so I'll "suggest" through proper channels now.

My suggestion is that FS puts together an official First Strike Public Relations/Advertising team who has the sole purpose of dealing with any problems with the current players and bringing more people into the mod.  This team will be seperate from the testing and development groups, and made up of a small (2-6 people, unless the mod grows) selection of dedicated and active players in First Strike.

The team will concentrate on things such as contacting people such as DICE (Project Reality is on the BF2 homepage, we can be on 2142 homepage with an e-mail or two), getting FS advertised on large modding sites, contacting 2142 communities, servers and clans to inform them about the mod, and to stay in contact with them once they have been introduced to FS.  Also, closer to home, providing support and the like to the people here.

I've tried to do some of these things myself, but some things I can't do (such as contact DICE or LA) without acting as an "Official".  There is also alot more "OOOMPH" to anything said on community forums if you are representing something officially, and not just trying to advertise a mod you are a great fan of.  Also, the fact there would be a TEAM of people doing it really expands how much ground one can cover.

What this project needs:
- A Private subforum, seperated from other usergroups, to be soley used for organising and discussion of who is doing what, where and when.  This would be a place everything important to the team goes.
- An "@Fsmod.com" E-mail address (though G-mail or the likes will do) - PRTeam@Fsmod.com or something, just to add that little bit more Officiality and Professional tone to things when it comes to e-mail contact.
- . . . . .

And yes, I am volunteering to join the team should it become something more than an Idea.

Suggestions, Opinions? When can we get started?  Who else is interested in joining something like this?

Also, as Talon is the "PR Guy", according to the front page, I suggest he becomes the team leader for this group.

EDIT: Also, this can be a good opertunity to see about recruiting some new peeps into the dev team.  With the advertising and us going around, we WILL come across some skilled people looking for some stuff to do, this is a good oppertunity to catch them up before other mods get in there first.

What say you Talon?

I especially like the idea of FSmod email adresses, and i think writing too dice/EA is defiantly worth a shot; if we could get on the 2142 page we would quadrouple our player base in a matter of days, this is definatly sumthing we shuld aim for.

Re: Public Relations/Advertising GROUP

I agree, this mod needs more publicity badly, and we should do everything we can to get it!

I see Talon's usage of bold text is catching... tongue

Edit: stupid forum for not carrying over formatting tongue (nah, not really, just sometimes).

Re: Public Relations/Advertising GROUP

I don't think it's catching on. Gwynzer just really wants this to happen. So do I.

I'll take it by that post that you can find nothing wrong with the idea and, therefore, agree with it?
