Maybe you can get a special forum once we see some special work.

Um, kinda destroys the point of it big_smile
They need their special forum to create the special work. What do you think the forum is for?

You get my vote anyway, this mod needs such a group.

Re: Public Relations/Advertising GROUP

One part of me agrees with Ty - if they want official status, they should get cracking and do some PR work to show they mean business and know their trade. Once they've demonstrated to the devs that they're serious, they can have the insight into NDA-protected FS material as well as an official forum and e-mail address. As for a forum, it's everything but hard to create a temporary forums, especially not for people like Gwynzer who already know their way around computers. Takes two minutes with a service such as ezboards.

The other part of me knows that Gwyn and his cult do know their stuff, most likely do mean business, and very likely will get work done. Not to mention that he's already been a tester for FS.

So it's up to the devs to decide, really.

All I saw in that post was someone trying to egg on a flame war.  This forum needs an "ignore user" option, or a "GTFO my thread" feature. tongue  Of course, then no one would listen to me either...

We're not after anything protected by NDA.  I'm sure that if there was something the devs wanted to reveal they would either do it themselves, or give us just the details we need to put up news or whatever.

I can't speak for others, but I've already stated that I've done what I can in a "PR" kind of way. It's not Public Relations unless you are an official rep, we can't do *real* PR work without havign official recognition.  I've done what I can, I've already shown I mean buisness and know the trade?  I worked for a long time with the UKWF lads when they first started FS, I'm sure those of them that were around back then could vouch for me.

We can start up a forum and all that squeezey pooh no bother, but it's nto worth the effort.  Setting up the forum is easy enough, but everyone involved then has to register to it, go through e-mails for internet activation, neccessery user permissions set up, all just for one subforum.  Alternatively, we can have that done here and save the effort having to be done later on.

Not to mention that he's already been a tester for FS.

Meaning I'm still bound by the current NDA (which means squat, I only follow it because of standards), so are most the people that were put forth for the team.  So anything that *IS* NDA protected can still go through us, at least, most of us.

So it's up to the devs to decide, really.

Let's do things instead of babbling all the time. We will never get things done with all this talk.

Next you'll tell us to stop fighting :throws another pie at Gwyn, has another handed to him by TY:

But yes, glad to see this coming along, Gwinnie.

Re: Public Relations/Advertising GROUP

Just a thought...
Would it be feasible to do Video versions of some updates?

Using the current update as an example, have someone read the copy as it appears over video of the Sandcrawler driving around or perhaps a rotating render of the model?

Then put it on Youtube and of course the fsmod & Moddb.

It would be, in my opinion,  a justifiable use of the media but would not take anywhere near the time and resources from of the team than some of more ambitious projects we've enjoyed in the past.
