A Dev, not "The Devs".  Was it an official Dev response or just the view of the individual.  A Question has already been raised with that: Can we cap from the roof at Slave quarters? You don't need a speeder to get up, and there are about 4 ways to get ontop of each building at the slave.

This is the best explanation I've heard so far; if both teams can make it up on foot, then there's really no problem. That way, if one team can make it up, the other team can easily take care of it without the need for any particular vehicle that isn't available to them.

Since I assume (and its already been mentioned) that people are referring to roofing on Espa and Slave quarters in particular, here is my (widely known) view.

Roofing at Slave quarters should NOT be allowed as in general it takes specialist knowledge to get up there even though you do not require a vehicle. The reason for this is not only because it frustrates new players who cannot get up there but also because (and has been verified by some members who have posted here) that in some circumstances when spawning on an officer, or when a beacon is placed there, it opens up a very serious glitch.

At the Imperial outpost on Bestine where you have a ladder running up the side of the building, I can see a valid reason for roofing, since that is easily accessed. That said, I would still prefer to see that cp radius reduced to negate the need to be up there except to provide a sniper perch.

Endor Strike Team - No roofing on the Outpost since that requires a speeder to access.

Same for the cp's on rhenvar where you need to utilise a speeder to get on various Imperial buildings.

I really really hate roofing at Espa even though others advocate it. As I've said, the reaon is simple, it can lead to a glitch. Gwynzer, since you know what I'm talking about then I would have thought you would recognise the need to prevent people being up there.

Yeah, IMHO some roofing is quite lame and theres little you can do about it except to be up there yourself.
There are a few things in game that I consider lame, but not cheating/glitching. You tolerate them because its part of the game and the only other recourse is server 'house' rules, like no claymores on flags! and no fighting commanders! in BF2.

making up restrictive rules invalidates some peoples play style and then You are forced to police it.

As I say Angel, the only problem I have with it on that map is because it can lead to what would generally be called cheating.

Those rules are our general rules for all BF type games. The rules for the FS will need to be tweaked to ensure a good experience for everyone. For now since they are more familiar with the ins and outs of the mod I will seek advice from Twigs and Talon on how best to approach rules for the FS server.

However if you have suggestions for us I ask that you post them on our forums so they may be addressed in a timely manner.
