Topic: Low amount of servers in lobby?

Hi,

I'm not all too sure if this is a problem I'm having so bear with me.

After recently installing FirstStrike 1.4 FULL, I started up the FS launcher, I went to the game lobby browser, unchecked the two boxes to be left unchecked, and updated the list. However instead the results only turned up 8 servers, none had any players on them. Is this normal or are there meant to be any more servers. I wouldn't have minded about the server numbers if they were populated which they weren't.

I've got Windows Vista 32 Bit, my BF2142 is patched to 1.5 my video card is a nvidia GTX 260. Not sure if that helps...

Servers are sometimes unpopulated, so what you saw wasn't an error.
We tend to fill servers at the weekend and some weeknights. Tonight and tomorrow night there will be a community game (CG) where lots of people will be on, and we should have players throughout the day.

The best solution to the problem is to join a server- its very likely a few others are looking at the empty server list and sighing too. If they see someone on they will join and servers can populate quickly that way.

It depends on the time of day, and what day.  Right now the mod is in one of it's "Quiet" periods, where it's harder than normal to get a game running.  This happens every few months.  Best times for a guaranteed game is Saturdays and Sundays at 8PM GMT (3PM EST) for a few hours after that.  Those are our community games which most FSers try to make a point of attending.

will it ever be possible for a single person to host a game from their home pc? (i dont remember how 2142 was on that)

i mean, im not sure how intensive this game would be to host, but i'd like to try

I think you cam, but I think you need a pretty good computer.
