Re: AVATAR

Saw this last night, damned fine movie, the environment and eco-system they've created is quite beautiful and just has to be seen to be believed in 3D. Despite how the aliens look in the trailer and promo shots they don't look nearly so cartoony in the final film, but sit really well in the environment and are perfectly believable. You'll also be grinning from ear to ear when it comes down to the inevitable smack down at the end of the movie.

The story is pretty much Pocahontas, but Pocahontas in space with the aforementioned dragons vs gunships!

lol lol lol

Didn't get to see it in IMAX though as that is sold out until after Xmas, might go and see it in IMAX in the new year when it has settled down a bit.

Either way, get it watched people!

cool

Re: AVATAR

Hehe, I know I said this looked stupid before, but this is like the first action sci-fi movie I will ever see in 3D, so it better not disappoint.

I reserved my free tickets at the biggest IMAX screen in CA for Christmas Eve big_smile

Working at the theatres is awesome big_smile

Re: AVATAR

Heh, I used to do that when I was at college, good job to have, free posters, watching all the movies you'd want. Also going out on the raz with everyone after the place closes (remember these places open late, and you've still got to party afterwards) All good times.

cool

Re: AVATAR

Just saw Avatar today. I believe a more fitting title would be "Avaterd".

Didn't like it too much. In my opinion, the 3D effect dampened the joy of the movie, and the plot was simple and predictable. The story wasn't very good, but it wasn't the worst I have seen. But it still sucked... They had an original idea, but that's it.

Sometimes the characters seemed to pop out of the movie, which most people liked, but I thought: "What's with the habit of coming out of the movie to be in our movie theaters? It makes 'em seem real, but it also puts them out of their place".

3D was very good, but it seemed unreal at times.

6/10 hmm

Re: AVATAR

I'm sorry, let me get this right. You went to see a movie in 3d, but didn't like it because of the 3d effects? Ok....
