Re: 3 years out and where's the mod?

You do realize that BFBC2 won't have any mod tools right? They're not even planning on releasing the server files.

Re: 3 years out and where's the mod?

I'd love to play more, but I rarely got the time to play anything really and if I do its either TF2 or FH2... But Im sure to reinstall 2142 when new update for FS is out even if it meant to just check it out on my own, which has been the case for the past few times I've decided to check back on the mod... sad

BF2 wasn't released with mod tools either smile.  Tbh, I'm tending to lean more towards miscommunication from dice there.  I think they were saying they weren't releasing server files with the beta - the rest of the post is speaking about the beta, I think that stuff was meant to be about the beta too.

BF2 was at least released with the loose promise of mod tools further down the line, not so with BFBC2. And reading the (rather silly) reasons for not releasing server files I'd say they're talking about the retail game. But have fun living in your bubble, I've been burned by DICE one too many times (and yet I keep coming back :X)

Nah, it's not just the beta, it's about the retail game.

Well, just go with the Unreal Development Kit since it's absolutely free and uses a great engine (UE3). With enough knowlegde you can do anything with it. The problem is you won't have a playerbase to start with I think and I fear no one here has enough time to program it big_smile although the support from EPIC is very good and there are a LOT of tutorial vids from them...

Re: 3 years out and where's the mod?

Well there's a turnaround. Earlier they sid they would work on mod tools, almost to assure the public that they would do a better job than CoD:MW2. Oh well, if thats really the case then I may cancel my pre-order.

There, thats where they said they would be looking at mod tools. Bar Stewards.

Re: 3 years out and where's the mod?

I sincerely hope we get mod tools. EA and Dice need to make a great game for once. All their previous games were good, but NEVER reached their full potential. They probably do it on purpose too.
