Topic: Unidentified BF2142 version?

I have Battlefield 2142 version 1.5, the version required by First Strike 1.4.
The launcher says that I have an unidentified version when I try to launch it though. What is going on here?

Hi there, and welcome to the First Strike Forums.

I think you'll need to give us a few more details there, such as whether it is a disc copy of the original BF2142 or a downloaded copy, also system specs and operating system would be useful.

Re: Unidentified BF2142 version?

I'm using the disk copy of BF2142 with a downloaded patch for version 1.5 of Battlefield on Windows XP.

Pentium 4 2.99 GHz processor
2.5 gig of ram
2 hard drives- 409 gig of hard drive where Battlefield is installed (drive E and not C)
nVidia 8500 GT video card

I tried uninstalling First Strike and installing it again, but it gave me an error saying that First Strike is not installed on my computer (I uninstalled the launcher too).

Never mind - thank hamsters for copypaste

Re: Unidentified BF2142 version?

What was your issue in the end? Sorry I hadn't responded in so long, have been away for a few days.

Re: Unidentified BF2142 version?

I would install First Strike into my mods folder in Battlefield, but the launcher did not recognize that Battlefield folder. When I let the installer install where it wanted to, the launcher would work but not recognize the Battlefield version because it was technically not in my Battlefield folder. Not wanting to download another installer to see if it was the installer causing the problem, I simply copy-pasted everything in my Battlefield folder into the other folder.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with the installer or my computer, or if it needs to be addressed in the future.
