Topic: Questions

Question 1: Does this mod use maya or 3ds for moddeling? As I am pretty good with maya but I hate 3ds max.

Question 2 : What would the max polly count be for a vehicle/static?
(not a big fan of making weopons)

Question 3:  What would the recommended map size be in terms of the size in the editor? no bigger than? no smaller than?

The game itself was actually made using Maya, however almost all modders use 3dsMax (I can't remeber if there was a particular reason; Possibly because the tools are better)

The editor only has a couple of sizes for maps: (Number of grid squares per side)
256, 512, 1024
with scales: (Size of grid square)
1,2,4
If memory serves me at the very least scale 4 has issues, scale 2 is the only one I know to work properly, so the largest map size is 1024x2 which results in a 2048m x 2048m map

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have moderate knowledge of bf2 editor (mainly mapping) I have spent ALOT of time making a map that I lost due to a HDD failure.

As for the models If you guys need an extra model or two I am willing to lend a hand. I can export from Maya to 3ds max... but I am not very good at UV mapping and texturing the models. Mainly because I found it very tedious and boring so never really spent a lot of time learning it.
