Topic: Urgent help needed- Update with new problem

Ok so i've been following this mod for a while and Just recently decided to install it. I am FAR above the reccomended system requirements but whenever I try to launch the mod OR BF2142 the game crashes at the loading screen (the one with walker int he background).

I have completely wiped BF2142 from my computer and reinstalled it as per the advice of another site to no avail. I have changed the Video.con file to suit my computer to no avail. I have installed the BF2142 patch from 1.4 to 1.5 with the incramental. All to no avail.

The only things that I think could be effecting this are the fact i'm running Windows 7 with DirectX 11 and the fact that Everytime i reinstall BF2142 It comes up with it couldn't install DirectX 9.0C for no apparent reason.

I know im not the only one with this problem so does anyone know how to fix it?

Are you running in widescreen?  If so, open the launcher, go to file -> Preferences and add "+widescreen 1" to the arguments. Hit apply and try again.

That's the usual cause of this problem.  You can also to this for BF2142 by right clicking it's shortcut and in the "Target" field add +widescreen 1 to the end.





Those 8 views were likely by search-spiders, unregistered guests or people who just don't know how to help. That's why you had no replies.

Were you able to run 2142 fine before installing FS? Also, do you have a widescreen monitor? If you do, you have to add "+widescreen 1 " to your arguments box.

You might have got more answers if you had posted on client support forums

New problem.

It says that my Cd key is registered to another account. Thing is i know the name of the account but not the password. Extra problems arise when the email that is connected to the account is now a dead email so i cant recover my password.

Any way to work around this?
