Topic: Game starts up then crashes

Okay this is exactly what happens.  I start the game from the desktop shortcut, then the game starts and I hit launch, then it starts up but then crashes to the desktop. please help sad sad sad

Need a little more information than that to really troubleshoot this problem. Have you got the latest version of the mod, has it tried to upload all the patches? What is the spec of the PC you're trying to run it on, operating system etc?

yes latest version of mod downloaded from fileplanet. my computer has the specs to run 2142, windows xp

First Strike is the featured mod on Fileplanet, or more accurately, the singleplayer Mini-mod is featured there.  Did you download the featured file or download version 1.4?


When you hit the desktop shortcut, you should see a custom launcher pop up like this:

If you don't get that, you have to download the latest version (1.4) from one of the links HERE.

Having the same problem, Installed the 1.2gb file, patched up to build 1013, tried running, and it crashed

tried again using the "+windowed 1" thing in several different ways of typing it, including with or without brackets, with and without spaces etc.

also tried running it in window, nothing works.

Installed to a clean BF2142 install (no patch requirements are shown on the main site) I use a Pentium 4 3ghz processor, on a 1.36 TB drive. 1.50 gb of ram

BF2142 runs fine well into the login screen, will try patching BF2142 normally, see if it helps, if it doesn't will reinstall FS. if it still doesn't work... well then I hope you guys can help...

Okay patching fixed it.

recovered my username and password (haven't played bf 2142 in 3 years tongue)

when I play bf2142 in First Strike mod,singleplayer.I create map normally . When the map load suceed. then,I click join game. And the game is not responding. How to fixit. I'm sorry about my English. I'm thai.and I know English a vevry little.
