BTW, I noticed that you guys use teamspeak. Is there also in-game voice chat? Would make teamwork within a squad easier.

VOIP (voice over internet protocol) is available on most 2142/First strike servers.

Press and hold V to talk to your squad. As a squadleader, Press B to talk to the commander .

(there is arely a commander in FS as the situation rarely requires one)

press alt f4 as commander to deploy at-at !!!!!!!!!!

Re: Community Games June 12/13

I think the at-at is still buggy I keep getting CTD. Let's hope it's fixed in the next release. wink

I was quite late today and there were only a few peeps left (I came at about 1:30 hour after CG started). The death star map was on. It was quite fun actually. I'm already a fan of flying, so even though we only had a few people on, it was cool.

Also the normal map we played afterwards with about 4 ppl was still fun. I still have to get used to using voice chat with ppl I've never met before smile. But I'll get over it, I think it adds a lot of dimension to the game.

That wasn't really any kind of CG. I got home about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie 'go home smell you later' and I saw there was still no-one on FS. So I threw Yavin up on RSF and jumped in.

For the record that was 64p bestine. And yes its still fun with 4-6 as long as ground rules are laid down about the battle tanks smile

Voice has always been one of the most interesting (and underused) facets of the Battlefield experience for me. I would have killed for Xfire voice playing XWA, and here it is built into the game.
It can help you get to know people as well as co-ordinate actions.
Plus its really immersive and fun as a barrel of monkeys on fire.

Well I'll be there again tonight, so I hope I won't be the only one smile

Re: Community Games June 12/13

The CG on Sunday turned into a photo shoot, but it was still entertaining. I would love to see the results some time.

Let's hope we can get a CG off next week with more ppl (can't wait to actually start using vehicles wink )

The pictures taken need some photoshop majik first, but here's one that's almost complete, done by blind (No posers in it, unfortunately):

Hopefully the other shots will be done soon.

Re: Community Games June 12/13

Null AND vehicle maps were both on the rotation, we also had the larger variations of some of the usual maps running.

Almost no one turned up. It'd be nice to see some more of the team online, the only testers who showed up are those who play WHENEVER there are people on. Back to normal next week, if there is still no turnout I'm going to stop bothering setting up maplists and I'll just leave you guys to play whatever the server happens to be running.

VOIP is still broken, and I'm no longer going to bother trying to fix it.  If you want some VOIP, all the BI guys sit on our TS server most of the time, everyone is free to join at ts.blackintel.org on port 9988.  We purchased a new serverbox the other week, and I'll see if I can get VOIP working on it once it's been set up.
