Hmmm....maybe. I dunno. I'll be honest with everyone here, I've kinda lost my thrill for First Strike what with the constant arguing and everything. I'll turn up this Saturday if I get time (7pm is a little early what with spending time with the kids and all), but if I don't see much improvement from past experience I may well leave early.

Did try the map earlier this week, its good fun and it takes a little thinking to work out some decent tactical play in order to avoid some of the massive bottle necks. I still have concerns that some areas of the map will become stagnation points, but we'll see.

"First community map", though? There have been several out by now, including laguinere's (spelling?) maps and TY2D2's Rhen Var Citadel.

Were any of those widely available and played though? I thought TYs Rhen Var Citadel was never finished?

There are some that could be considered Community maps though, like the ones that won the competition to be added to the official First Strike maps such as what eventually became Bandomeer and Null, and also from TY again since he was on hiatus from the team when he produced it, Lok. I am however not counting these as they became part of official First Strike releases and were never distributed independently to the public like this one.

Citadel was completed, but for some reason (probably the many, many, many other maps we were considering and releasing for 1.2), it never saw any action. Then TY's HD crashed, and as it turned out no one had held onto their downloaded copies, it seems it's gone forever. Sad.
