Topic: Getting around CD check

Hi,

I have BF2142 retail copy and am running Windows 7 - 64 Bit.

For some reason my cd/dvd drive will not recognise my disk. It will work on my laptop but that is not built for gaming.

I have the 1.5 crack off gamecopyworld and it runs vanilla 2142 fine.

How can i get a workaround to get the 1.5 mod running with widescreen? The First Strike launcher keeps asking for the dvd disk.

Yes my copy is legit, my 2142 gamertag is B0GiE and player id is 81647184 if you don't believe me.

Re: Getting around CD check

For No CD: Go to your 2142 folder, delete firststrike.exe Copy your (nocd) 2142.exe and rename it to firststrike.exe.

For Widescreen:  Open up the FS launcher, click file -> preferences and type +widescreen 1 into the arguments box.

Thanks, works great, now I keep getting disconnected from EA Master Server.

I have enabled First Strike and First Strike Launcher through Windows Firewall.

Any ideas?

Re: Getting around CD check

EA Master Server is having a fit.  Gamespy changed providers or something, there is nothing FS can do it about it, it's hitting 2142 too.

Re: Getting around CD check

Oh ok, i manage about 5 mins of play then just get disconnected. Bummer. Everyone else seems to stay in the server though.

Re: Getting around CD check

It is completely random mate. I even had a master server disconnect playing singleplayer!
