Playing Galactic Conquest on Vista or Windows 7:

Your Battlefield 1942 Version should be 1.61
Set Compability to Windows XP Service Pack 3 and tick "Execute as Admin"
Also, deactivate Punkbuster

If this shouldn't help, check your installation. You have to install Galactic 5.0 and 5.3

The best part is when they get destroyed.  You definitely don't want to be standing too close. wink

For the full GC experience, you should at least have 1 Speeder Bike Race.
