Re: The Force Unleashed II
but then they have an A-Wing parked in a hanger when they wouldn't have been invented yet.
The A-wing is an interesting case beacuse theres a lot of lore/timeline shenannigans due to carelessness and stuff.
A-wings appear in the games Star Wars: Empire at War, Star Wars: X-wing, Star Wars: Rebel Assault and the Droids animated series; however, these are set years before the A-wing is stated to have been developed, making it an anomaly. Thus, it is likely that these ships are actually R-22 Spearheads, and therefore all pre-Yavin A-wing instances have been thusly retconned.....
(elsewhere)
A possible in-universe explanation could be that the name "Spearhead" was disfavored in the Rebel Alliance and that "A-wing" was used as a nickname, until the production of the RZ-1 interceptor.
Which would make sense if Headhunter, Xwing, Awing etc is a casual moniker given by pilots based on visual appearance or role rather than an assembly line designation.
Which explains the Aurek wing of the galactic republic wihich of course translates as A-wing (and it was called as such.)
