Topic: CTD on starting the FS mod ! ---->> PLZ READ <<-

so..hi everyone im new to this mod and I'm dream to play this beauty job, so i have a prob and here is it.

i have installed bf2142 with the patch 1.50 and works perfectly in widescreen and res 1920x1080 at maximum video configuration*..good !
so i downloaded the FS mod version 1.5 yesterday and installed on bf2142 folder(installs perfectly and the launcher as well)**..ok so far so good..well in the launcher I hit Preferences and add this sintax on the  arguments box:

+ widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080
---------

ok then when i hit the launch button the bf2142 loading screen appears (like running normal battlefield 2142)and the screen goes black then...i get this error msg:
-FirstStrike.exe stoped from working
Windows is searching a solution for this problem
then doesn't launch.....
can anyone help me ! thanks (Sorry for my english)  :)

* on bf2142 icon i had this to work
Properties > Compatibility > [X] Disable Visual Themes.
** The mod is in this folder
C:\Programs Files (x86)...Battlefield 2142\mods\FirstStrike
The Launcher is in this folder
C:\Programs Files (x86)\FirstStrike

You sure there's a 'space' between '+' and 'widescreen 1'? That could maybe cause the problem. Just put "+widescreen 1" in the arguments and then you can select a widescreen resolution in the game options.

Two issues.

1) There is no space between + widescreen 1, so it should be +widescreen 1

2) If you enter +widescreen 1 then you can't enter a second resolution.

My advice would be to just enter the resolution, as the +widescreen thing will not give you access to a resolution that high.

So, to fix your problem and give you a good resolution, just enter +szx 1920 +szy 1080 in your arguments box.

lol, i dont know why I created a topic just for a huge lack of attention at the time of writing the command that was the only problem anyway THANKS A LOT...

Use your regular Battlefield account.

well, now i can launch the mod succefully and join a server, but when the load is finish i hit deploy than CTD...any ideas ?

I had this problem (CTD when pressing deploy button) on windows vista 32.

I fixed it by running pbsetup (updating punkbuster).

I downloaded pbsetup from the punkbuster website, then selected 2142 in the list it gives you, and pressed add game. Then selected 2142 and pressed update.

It stopped the CTD on deploy problem and let me join the servers.
