Topic: Red servers (again)

Thanks to some great help here on the forum i got my FS starting just fine. Now i need to play the darn thing too...

So all i get is red servers, 3 or so.

But before i start, and the launcher starts to update it says downloading this, unpacking that, and then "error connecting to update server", or something like it. The game starts and servers are red.

Also another problem might be that i did the copy and rename bf2142.exe thing. I got instructions that this file should be about 6000 or so, but mine was 11 000. Im running the delux version from digital download on win 7 64 gb.

huh...strange, I have no problem connecting to the update server. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking it. Also, on the launcher click file, preferences and let me know what version number you are running. Should be 1015 if it has updated correctly.

have you updated BF2142 to version 1.51? That comes with the Northern Strike expansion so there may be some issues if you already had NS installed. Don't have the deluxe edition myself though I am running a digital download of BF2142. Do you have a file called BF2142PACE or something like that? Try renaming that to FirstStrike.exe.

I had a look in the launcher and its 1014. I changed it to 1015 just to see and sure, the launcher gives no error message but the servers are red. they say i´m running a newer version than the servers.

And im not sure about the 2142 version, but i think its 1.5

If you are running 2142 v1.5 you will see red servers, that is because all servers now run at 1.51.

Try deleting the zip file titled 101 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods, then change your version number in the launcher back to 1014 and try updating. If you still get an error message let me know and I will provide a link to the file for you.

Back again... let me start by saying thanks for the great support and the fast answers!

So I did what  you told me to, and well it kind of worked. I made sure it was 1.51 and i removed the zip.file and set the version to 1040.
I sill get the error message but the servers are not red and i can connect. But i still CTD as soon as the map has loaded, just before i hit deploy.

The version still says 1040 so i changed it to 1050 but the same thing happened but this time with no error message.

I can load a singel player game just fine and run about, but everytime i try an online server the game ctd after loading.

Whats next?

No, not 1040! 1040 would make it a higher version, so it won't download the udpate. it must be set to 1014.
