Topic: A bf2142 CTD fix (Possibly)

For me bf2142 and fs could not start, the game started but then failed almost instantly with no errors and I tried as hard as I could to fix it but eventually gave up. I then had similar problems with mount and blade warband and tried to fix that and ended up fixing its problems and bf2142s.

(I am using windows 7 32bit btw)

I went into regedit.exe (put this into search in the start and run it)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Personal

Then I changed the destination back to the original C:\Users\*insert user here*\Documents         (I think you have to use export to save this, though I'm not to sure)

However I think that it may have automatically renamed documents to my documents in that folder or I might have done it ... I can't remember but anyway it  worked I was able to play bf2142 and save in M%B warband.

I hope this might be useful to someone out there who had the same problem I had.

PS use this to your own disgretion if you're PC dies it's not my fault, perhaps backup your registry first to be extra safe.

Re: A bf2142 CTD fix (Possibly)

I found out that just running the game as administrator fixed the issue for me. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit though, so I don't know.

Thanks for the additional info, always good to see how people get around their installation problems, and will most likely be useful to someone else.

Also good to see Sirslicey finally up and running and in game last night (some good games), now get your butt over to NIC and get signed up for the Campaign.

cool
